An exhibit celebrating thirty years of Toshihiro Kawamoto’s work will be on display at Tokyo’s Gallery of Fantastic Art (GoFA), from his start in the 1986 anime movie Arion, and covering a vast portfolio of his work with the anime studio Bones.
Since co-founding Bones Inc. in 1988, he has served either as director, character designer or both on series such as Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 and Cowboy Bebop. More recently, he has worked as character designer on Blood Blockade Battlefront, as animation director on Space Dandy, and as both on Noragami. Cells and original illustrations of these works, along with Wolf’s Rain which had a Kawamoto-animated opening, will be exhibited between October 24th and November 11th. Then, on November 14th, an autograph session will kick off a second phase, which will continue until the 29th.
