News: Ichijinsha and pixiv to launch ‘comic POOL’ digital manga magazine

Japanese publisher Ichijinsha and the online artists’ platform pixiv are collaborating in the launch of a digital manga magazine named comic Pool

Starting from this Friday, November 6th, the magazine will start publishing works from promising manga artists to build up their online audiences.

The goal of this team-up is to attract perhaps more casual online manga readers to existing pixiv manga publications as well as new releases, the first of which has been confirmed as a series titled Zannen Danshi. Six of pixiv’s most popular series, including Ojisan and Marshmallow – already lined up for  an anime adaptation by the studio Creators in Pack – and Wotaku ni Koi ha Muzukashii (Love is Tough for Otaku), will appear in comic POOL’s first issue. New issues will then be released twice monthly, the website updating every first and third Friday of the month.
