News: The Seven Deadly Sins now streaming on Netflix

A-1 Pictures’ anime The Seven Deadly Sins, adapted from Nakaba Suzuki’s fantasy action manga, appeared on Netflix yesterday as its second Western anime streaming exclusive next to Knights of Sidonia. All 24 episodes are now available in Japanese with English subs, and as an English dub starring Bryce Papenbrook as Meliodas and Erika Harlacher as Elizabeth.

Kodansha, the manga’s publisher, describes how the Sins’ story begins:

When they were accused of trying to overthrow the monarchy, the feared warriors the Seven Deadly Sins were sent into exile. Princess Elizabeth discovers the truth – the Sins were framed by the king’s guard, the Holy Knights – too late to prevent them from assassinating her father and seizing the throne!

Now the princess is on the run, seeking the Sins to help her reclaim the kingdom. But the first Sin she meets, Meliodas, is a little innkeeper with a talking pig. He doesn’t even have a real sword! Have the legends of the Sins’ strength been exaggerated?

Netflix’s third anime exclusive, Ajin – Demi-Human, is already set to launch next year, and there’s also a page on the service for Glitter Force, a Saban Brands series branching from the magical girl franchise Pretty Cure, slated to air on the streaming service on December 18th this year.
