News: Second season premiere of Assassination Classroom announced

The Assassination Classroom anime’s official website has announced to those impatiently awaiting its second season that a premiere date has been confirmed.

Beginning on Fuji TV and Kansai TV on January 7th 2016, new episodes will then air every Thursday, with Fuji TV On Demand also streaming the latest episodes starting from January 10th. A teaser was released by Avex Pictures on November 17th first revealing that the new series was coming in January, which you can watch below.

Along with the main voice cast, all the staff from studio Lerche who produced the first series are returning for the second. Seiji Kishi of Persona 4: The Animation is directing, while his colleague for the Persona 4 anime, Kazuaki Morita, is in charge of character design, and Makoto Uezu, who worked on Arpeggio of Blue Steel with Morita, is on the team as scriptwriter.

On top of this news, just in time for Christmas shopping, the official merchandise store Korosensei Shop Returns!  will be open for a limited time starting December 12th, in the Hachitama Spherical Observation Room on the 25th floor of Fuji TV’s main building in Odaiba. Below you can see the commercial for the event, also as featured on the Assassination Classroom anime site.
