Studio Trigger’s new project directed by Kill la Kill’s Imaishi

Today, studio Trigger has announced its latest project, which will be directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi of Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann and premiere in April on the Ultra Super Anime Time programming block. A website with the URL also launched by Trigger features the date April 1st, as well as a countdown. But it isn’t counting down to April. It will instead end in 30 days, which suggests that another major announcement will be made a month from now.

The website also states that this project is being set in motion to commemorate Trigger’s fifth anniversary, which falls in August this year. And another hint comes from looking back to March of last year, when Ultra Super Anime Time revealed at the AnimeJapan 2015 event that Imaishi would be at the helm of a new short anime for the block.
