Gurren Lagann project revealed, and it’s not an anime

Unfortunate news, friends and anime fans. Though we all wanted to believe, and were convinced, that the new Gurren Lagann project would be an anime, a game or something else to further the narrative, it turns out the big secret was a shiny new set of pachinko slot machines. So that’s what the PS in the URL stood for.

The machines come in Gurren Lagann and Lazengann versions (pictured below), and will be set up in pachinko halls in February this year. And although this anti-climactic reveal has left many of us a little deflated, Japanese fans do get to revel in the series once more as it’s being rerun on Nico Nico from December 28th through to January 10th. In concurrence, the Nico Nico Seiga and Weekly Heroes online manga services have also made volumes of the manga free to view, and this offer lasts till January 11th.
