The Pokémon Company International is preparing a smorgasbord of treats to celebrate Pokémon’s 20th anniversary, and the most delectable of those is the New Nintendo 3DS bundle coming to North America on February 27th, which will be sold with Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue digital editions pre-loaded, Charizard and Blastoise cover plates and an appropriate home menu theme.
In Europe from February 19th, three new sets of bundled 2DS consoles will also be on offer, including digital releases of Pokémon Red, Pokémon Blue or Pokémon Yellow, and coloured accordingly in transparent red, blue or yellow. This bundle will also come with stickers and a home menu theme download code.
Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon-themed cover plates for the New 3DS will arrive in Europe on February 19th, and classic Pokémon plates will follow on the 27th, with monthly Mythical Pokémon distributions beginning at GameStop the same month. More goodies include a Generations trading card expansion, digital remasters of the Pokémon movies with the first three released on Blu-ray and DVD, and new games including Pokkén Tournament and Pokémon GO. A live-action commercial will also debut at the Super Bowl on February 7th, and this year’s Pokémon Day, which falls on February 27th, surely warrants a huge celebration by fans and creators alike. 20 years since Pokémon Red & Blue were released for the Gameboy. Can you believe it?
