The Haikyu!! anime’s second season has spiked a new cast member – Masayuki Shouji, who voiced Silver Spoon’s Keiji Tokiwa, joins the volleyball series as freshman, setter and resident tall guy at Date Tech High, Kanji Koganegawa. When Shonen Jump magazine revealed the news, it was paired with a first look at the character’s design as shown below.


The new series premiered on October 3rd with a run of 25 episodes, and Crunchyroll is streaming the show as it airs in Japan. The streaming service describes the story:

After losing to Aoba Johsai at the Inter-High, the Karasuno High Volleyball Team is working their hardest toward the Spring Tournament. In the meantime, it’s decided that they’ll be heading to Tokyo for a training camp with Nekoma High and a handful of other powerful schools. They team is practicing hard, and not day during their run, Hinata and Kageyama get too excited and end up lost, and end up meeting someone rather unexpected…

In other Haikyu!! news, there’s also a new ad airing for May’s limited edition release of volume 21 of Haruichi Furudate’s manga, which will bundle the bonus Jump Festa 2015 short, ‘VS red point’, on  DVD and is available for pre-orders now.
