The editor-in-chief of Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine, Takaaki Imai, has revealed that Kazune Kawahara and Aruko’s manga My Love Story!! is nearing its end, and is presumably due for a dramatic peak in the near future. In his interview with the Japanese entertainment news website Comic Natalie, when asked about future plans for Bessatsu Margaret, he said “Since Kazune Kawahara has just started her new serialized manga Suteki na Kareshi, My Love Story!! is approaching its climax.”
So, after first being serialised in April 2012, it seems we will soon be saying farewell to the manga that’s warmed enough hearts to win Best Shojo Manga in 2013’s Kodansha Manga Awards. But it’s time for a new story, with Suteki na Kareshi (A Wonderful Boyfriend) running in Bessatsu Margaret since January 13th, and the magazine’s official website describes it:
One way or another, I want a boyfriend! To achieve a certain dream, Nonoka Kozakura hurries to execute her plan to get a boyfriend.
There’s also the live-action movie adaptation of Kawahara’s Aozora Yell to look forward to. The film of the manga that reached its finale in October of last year will open in Japan in August 2016.
