This year marks the 45th anniversary of the Kamen Rider tokusatsu TV series’, and to celebrate, Toei Animation have announced the new movie Kamen Rider #1. The title hints at a return to the masked hero’s origins in some sense, and the casting certainly seems to confirm that.

In the latest issue of Shogakukan’s Televi-Kun children’s manga mag, it’s been revealed that Hiroshi Fujioka will be taking up his role as Shotaro Ishinomori’s creation Kamen Rider #1, Takeshi Hongo once again. In this film he’ll be powered up compared to his 1971 original, but he’ll be facing the classic baddies of Shocker and Nova Shocker as the leader of the Kamen Rider forces, and it’s due to hit cinemas in Japan on March 26th.
