News: K-ON! writer’s original anime Hai-Furi confirms debut

The original maritime academy anime written by Girls und Panzer and K-ON!’s Reiko Yoshida, Hai Furi, has its air date set. The series’ official website announced that it will premiere on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV and Gunma TV on April 9th, after two advance screenings in Memorial Ship Mikasa. Alongside Non Non Biyori author Atto’s work as character designer in collaboration with Yoshida,  the Strike Witches and Girls und Panzer military advisor Takaaki Suzuki has been revealed as the anime’s original story creator. And under Production IMS of Active Raid and The Testament of Sister New Devil, the Expelled from Paradise CG studio Graphinica is producing, filming and editing the CG for the show.

TrySail’s opening theme ‘High Free Spirits’ was previewed in the show’s first promo video, which also intrdocued the Sword Art Online II character designer Naoto Nakamura’s work on Atto’s original designs, but now the ending theme has been revealed too. Luna Haruna sings ‘Ripple Effect’, a song which was written, composed and arranged by ZAQ, and she will be a guest at the anime’s stage event for the Anime Japan 2016 convention on March 26th.

Director Yu Nobuta of A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd is leading on this series, which sees Akeno Misaki and her childhood friend Moeka China start at an all-girls school that specialises in teaching maritime skill and culture. Together with their new friends, they train to protect the seas as Blue Mermaids.
