At the Symphogear Live 2016 event on Sunday, attendants were met with a Dáinsleif of delightful news. As confirmed by the official website for the Senki Zesshō Symphogear GX anime, a fourth and fifth series has been green-lit for the musical sci-fi franchise.
Thomas Romain, the art setting designer for all three previous Symphogear anime and many more for the studio Satelight, has hinted that he’s involved as well as throwing in his own update. He revealed that a Symphogear game is also in production, adjusting the news from his previous tweet which only said a new Symphogear “sequel” had been given the go-ahead.
Alongside Romain, the franchise’s animation director Yoshiyuki Okubo has also suggested he’ll be in on the project, so at the moment these new series are looking to be times for team reunions.
