News: Three more Onigiri characters have voice actors revealed

After last week’s reveal that Love Live! Sunshine!!’s Aina Suzuki would voice Shizuka Gozen, with Nurse Witch Komugi R’s Eriko Matsui portraying Yoshitsune, three more characters from Onigiri’s bright main visual have had their voice actors announced. Suzuko Mimori, known for voicing Love Live!’s Umi Sonoda, is the obligatory neko Ibaraki-dōji, with Izumi Kitta, who voiced WATAMOTE‘s Tomoko Kuroki, as the equally obligatory eyepatch loli Kaguya, and Natsuko Hara, or JK Meshi!‘s Reina Saeki, as the supremely moe Amaterasu complete with twin-tail hairstyle. And as with the first two cast reveals, the anime’s official website has posted sample voice clips for all three characters.

Here are the individual images for Shizuka Gozen and Yoshitsune, and the previously released main visual for the series:

The show airing in Japan on April 7th is directed by Takashi Yamamoto of Final Approach at the Beelzebub studio Pierrot Plus, and Takamitsu Kouno of Utawarerumono: The False Faces is handling series composition alongside Takashi Aoshima of Himouto! Umaru-chan, with Ojisan to Marshmallow’s Atsushi Oka joining to collaborate on the scripts. Yukiko Ibe, who worked on Nanatsuiro Drops with director Yamamoto, is chief animation director as well as being in charge of character design. And it’s also been announced that Starmarie is performing the opening theme song ‘Hime wa Rankiryū☆Goikkō-sama’.

Cyberstep describes the story of their game:

Onigiri thrusts its players into mystical Japan, a land filled with mythical creatures of Japanese legend. Starting as a lone Oni, players fight against the malevolent influence of the Kamikui as their miasma spreads over the land. 8 NPCS, each with their own distinct personality and skills, ally themselves with the player to help build a legend, and quell the evil that has arisen. As you grow stronger together, so do the bonds binding you to each other.
