The original “steampunk survival” anime from the Attack on Titan team at WIT Studio, loaded up with armoured locomotives and techno-zombies with steel hearts, has announced its broadcast date for the spring season. Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress will debut on Fuji TV’s noitaminA block at 11:25pm on April 7th (effectively 12:25am April 8th because of Japan’s late-night/early-morning schedule blurring), and all following episodes will air every Thursday at 11:55pm.
The series’ theatrical preview special will begin its one-week run on March 18th and tickets are now on sale in Japan, with the prize for attendants of a mini shikishi

Attack on Titan director Tetsuro Araki, scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko, animation director Kyoji Asano and composer Hiroyuki Sawano all return to working together for the series, with Code Geass’ series composition writer Ichiro Okouchi joining to construct the fortress.
