The Ni no Kuni and Yo-Kai Watch game developers Level-5 have a secret project in place, and a sly tweet from its president and CEO Akihiro Hino has fixed a particular title in fans’ minds. He wrote “And so, as we look forward to the next Level-5 visions of 2016, there are many new anime and game projects lined up. Please look forward to them! The katakana “イ”, which represents the long “ii” sound, hovers in the penultimate sentence of the tweet. To many of his followers that can only mean one thing, and it seems likely that an Inazuma Eleven game would indeed be on the cards. The football RPG has already spawned two video game trilogies – and that’s not counting the spin-offs – a manga by Tenya Yabuno and a 2008 anime which led to the 2010 movie. But fans are still hungry for more, and surely Hino tapped that in his tweet. Still, we’ll have to wait a little longer to be sure.
