Pokémon Co-master game brings strategic battle experience to smartphones
Combining the sublimely geeky coupling of strategy gaming and figure collecting, the latest plan from The Pokémon Company for the franchise’s 20th anniversary is a new smartphone game title coming to iOS and Android in Japan this spring. Pokémon Co-master, developed by the pro-shōgi-player crushing AI creators HEROZ, sticks with their strengths as a free-to-play “strategy battle board game”, where players create a “deck” of figurines (shown below) and use different combinations to battle their opponents.
The Pokémon battle and chess crossover is given a quick demonstration and fanfare in its first promo video, which you can watch below.
