Kazuki Takahashi returns to Shonen Jump with Yu-Gi-Oh! manga for first time in 12 years

To bridge the gap in the storyline between the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga’s 343rd chapter and the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions anime movie, which was described when first announced as an “after episode” of the original TV series, the manga’s creator Kazuki Takahashi is drawing his first new chapters for the series in twelve years. The two-episode one-shot revealed by Shueisha, to be released in Weekly Shonen Jump’s 19th and 20th issues, will break the gap since March 2004 where no Yu-Gi-Oh! was being published in the magazine, beginning on April 11th.

One week after this one-shot’s second chapter is released, the all-new anime film will open in Japan on April 23rd. Takahashi returned to his old beloved franchise to write the screenplay and design the film’s original characters, and also took on the role of executive producer.
