The first theme song CD release for WIT Studio’s original anime Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress has been listed by Amazon Japan. It’s a collaboration between Aimer, whose songs have set off Terror in Resonance and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, and vocalist chelly of EGOIST, known from Guilty Crown and Psycho-Pass, who sing together on the series’ closing track ‘ninelie’.
Hiroyuki Sawano, who is composing the music for the series, also composed and produced this song from Aimer and chelly, whose five-track single CD will ship on May 11th. And as a group, EGOIST have given the show its opening theme, titled ‘Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress’.
Update: Aimer and chelly’s ending theme ‘ninelie’ has now been given its first preview listens in a couple of new promos for Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. The first focuses on showing us more of the anime, while the second lets us hear more of the song, as well as its partnered OP from EGOIST which drops as a single on May 25th. You can catch them both below, along with the latest visual.
In other news from the fortress, where streaming’s concerned for this series, it seems Amazon Prime TV may have the only rights. Fuji TV and Amazon announced that they have signed a deal for the service to have exclusive streaming rights for all noitaminA block series going forwards, but while this deal was confirmed for Japan, along with plans for Fuji TV and Amazon to stream internationally, whether the exclusivity agreement extends worldwide is yet to be stated as definite.
