Rock Musical Bleach returns after four year hiatus

Rock Musical Bleach is back this summer in Tokyo and Kyoto, after four years since its last show adapting Tite Kubo’s manga, Shinsei Rock Musical Bleach REprise, had its run in the summer of 2012. The new play is written and directed by Yasuyuki Tsutsumi of One Piece Episode of Luffy: Hand Island no Boken, and will come to the AiiA 2.5 Theatre Tokyo and Kyoto Theatre.

The first musical in the series, entitled Rock and Swordplay, proved a smash in Tokyo in August 2005, which prompted ten more before the show went on hiatus. The total number of audience members over those eight years racked up to roughly 180,000. For anyone who has plans to join that number with the show’s return, it will arrive in Tokyo on July 28th and run till August 7th, then pick up again in Kyoto from August 24th-28th.
