Kadokawa’s mook (magazine book) for all things Fate, Type-Moon Ace, is hinting at a “major announcement” for the spin-off light novels Fate/Apocrypha in its 11th volume. While fans are visualising a drama CD, or even an anime adaptation, we can’t yet scrap the possibility of another pachinko machine. More details will be available after April 15th, when volume 11 of Type-Moon Ace goes on sale.
The Fate/Apocrypha series, written by Yuichiro Higashide and illustrated by Ototsugu Konoe, has so far published five volumes from 2012-2014, and its plot has been summarised as follows:
The story is set in a parallel world to original Fate/stay night, where the Grail was removed from Fuyuki City after the Third War and thus the events of Fate/stay night and Fate/Zero never happened. It focuses on the conflict between the two opposing factions, Red and Black, each summoning seven Servants and the Grail itself summoning a special Ruler-class servant as a mediator of the Holy Grail War. The red faction members were sent by the Clock Tower Mage’s Association, while the black faction members are part of a Romanian group called Yggdmillennia.
