In February, NIS America announced that the Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness visual novel would be coming west on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita this fall, but now we have the official release dates. In North America, September 13th will see those across the pond checking their hues, while we in Europe will be strapping on our Dominators on September 16th. A Steam release is also planned for PC players, but more info on that will be announced at a later date.
The game will be available physically and digitally on both consoles, and NIS America has unveiled a look at the limited edition version. This set, priced at $69.99 on PS4 and $59.99 on PS Vita, bundles the extras of a 72-page art book, soundtrack, pencil boards and a microfibre cloth, all packaged up in a collectible box.
On the official website, you can find out more about the game’s story, its characters and pre-ordering it for yourself. Here’s your investigation brief for Mandatory Happiness:
2112, Tokyo. Two new detectives have been assigned to the MWPSB Criminal Investigation Department Division 1. Nadeshiko Kugatachi is an Inspector whose memories were wiped, while Takuma Tsurugi is an Enforcer who is searching for his missing childhood friend. Calm, serious, and unable to comprehend human emotions, Nadeshiko meets Tsurugi, a hot-headed man determined to become a tough detective. Once they encounter each other, the gears of fate begin to turn.
The story takes place somewhere far away from Tokyo in the once futuristic Sado Marine City. What will their answers be when they reach the “truth”…?
