Event: Reel Japan Film Festival to revel in twisted love

There’s a new film festival in London town this year, a two-day event from April 30th to May 1st called Reel Japan. Twisted love tales will ensnare you at The Yard Theatre, in films from the likes of Audition‘s Takashi Miike, and Shinya Tsukamoto of Tetsuo: The Iron Man‘s cyberpunk fetishism. Here are all the tainted lovers’ movies on the festival programme:

A Snake of June.jpgSaturday April 30th

12:00pm – A Snake of June (directed by Shinya Tsukamoto)
1:45pm – Be My Baby (Hitoshi One)
4:30pm – Greatful Dead (Eiji Uchida)
6:40pm – Himizu (Sion Sono)

Sunday May 1st

11:30am – Lala Pipo (Masayuki Miyano)
1:30pm – Memories of Matsuko (Tetsuya Nakashima)
4:00pm – Isn’t Anyone Alive (Sogo Ishii)
6:30pm – Lesson of Evil (Takashi Miike)

Seats are limited to 100 per screening, so if you want to snag your tickets, they are now available here at £5 each. You can also buy £25 weekend tickets and £15 day tickets, but these are in short supply. It might be possible to buy tickets on the door, as any that go unsold for each film will be available on its respective screening date. In this case, availability will be updated on The Yard’s Twitter feed.
