We’ll finally be getting our latest Ghibli fix in the UK this summer, with When Marnie Was There arriving in our cinemas on June 10th. The Oscar-nominated film from director Hiromasa Yonebayashi, taking a young adult novel by Joan G. Robinson and dropping it into a Japanese village, now has its debut UK trailer from StudioCanal, and you can take a look at the GKIDS/Ghibli International dub below. But if you’re concerned about mild spoilers it’s worth taking note that, compared to the US version, this trailer reveals much more of the film, including some later scenes.
This film’s British release, which will also screen with subtitles, has been partnered with the return of Studio Ghibli Forever. The event organised by StudioCanal will be bringing Studio Ghibli’s beloved films back to cinemas across the country, throughout the summer and carrying on into the fall months.
