Makoto Raiku, the mangaka mind behind the Zatch Bell! and Animal Land series, is launching a brand new manga in Weekly Shonen Magazine. Kodansha announced the fresh title Vector Ball in the magazine’s latest issue, describing it as a “school fantasy manga about bonds” and scheduling the 62-page first chapter for its next issue, which is scheduled to publish on April 27th.
Raiku had hist first hit with his Konjiki no Gash Bell!! (Zatch Bell!), which launched in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2001, and ended in 2007 with 33 compiled volumes in total. Its anime adaptation ran for 150 episodes between 2003 and 2006, spawning the respective 2004 and 2005 films Konjiki no Gash Bell: 101 Banme no Mamono and Konjiki no Gash Bell!!. Five years after the anime ended, Raiku stopped working for Shogakukan after settling a lawsuit with the publisher, winning 2.55 million yen for the loss of five pieces of full-colour art from the Zatch Bell! manga.
