News: The guys of the Orange anime are cast, and pictured in touching then-and-now designs

Last month we were introduced to the leading ladies in a series raising hopes high for the summer, the anime adapting Ichigo Takano’s sci-fi romance manga Orange, and today Futubasha’s Monthly Action magazine welcomed the guys into the fold. Along with the cast announcements and character designs below, Noboteru Yuki also threw in some sketches of all except for Kakeru aged 26.

Seiichiro Yamashita (Haruchika – Haruta & Chika‘s Keisuke Katagiri) as Kakeru Naruse

Makoto Furukawa (One Punch Man‘s Saitama) as Hiroto Suwa

Kazuyuki Okitsu (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure‘s Jonathan Joestar) as Saku Hagita

The three previously named cast for the main female characters were announced as below, also with all but Naho’s then-and-now designs.

Kana Hanazawa (Durarara!!‘s Anri and Akane of Psycho-Pass) as Naho Takamiya

Natsumi Takamori (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls‘ Miku) as Azusa Murasaka

Rika Kinugawa (Hundred‘s Liddy) as Takako Chino

The seemingly surefire summertime hit is directed by Steins;Gate’s Hiroshi Hamasaki at production studios TMS Entertainment and Telecom Animation Film. Scripts are written by Yuko Kakihara of Persona 4 the ANIMATION and character designs are all provided by Yuki of Kids on the Slope, and Seven Seas, who publish the manga in North America, describe the story as follows:

Everyone has regrets in life. So who wouldn’t take the chance to change the past if given the opportunity? When sixteen-year-old Takamiya Naho receives a mysterious letter, claiming to be from her twenty-seven-year-old self, her life is suddenly thrown into flux. The letter tells her that a new transfer student by the name of Naruse Kakeru will be joining her class, and to keep her eye on him. But why? Naho must decide what to make of the letter and its cryptic warning, and what it means not only for her future, but for Kakeru’s as well.
