News: Danganronpa 3 anime confirms that both arcs will air simultaneously in July

After previously stating that the ‘Mirai Hen’ and ‘Zetsubo Hen’ parts of Danganronpa 3: The End of Kibogamine Gakuen would air separately, with just ‘Mirai Hen’ starting in July, the anime’s official website has announced that both chapters will premiere at the same time. So now, two Danganronpa 3 episodes will premiere each week in the summer season, and to mark the push forward for ‘Zetsubo Hen’, the site has also unveiled its new visual.

Since the announcement that Nobuyo Oyama would be stepping down from her role as Monokuma to be replaced by TARAKO, the anime has been revealing its new and returning cast for both chapters. And as for ‘Zetsubo Hen’, or the ‘Despair Chapter’, which focuses on the Danganronpa 2 game’s characters, Minami Takayama is returning to her game role as Hajime Hinata.

FUNimation, who streamed the Danganronpa the Animation series as it aired in 2013, describe the story based on the first Spike Chunsoft game:

Hope’s Peak Academy is an exclusive private school that only accepts the best of the best. Graduates of this elite – yet enigmatic – institution have the world at their fingertips, but getting a cap and gown is easier said than done. The hallowed halls are ruled by the sadistic administrator Monobear, who declares that the only way to pass the class is by sending a fellow student home in a body bag. If you can get away with murder, you’ll get your diploma. But if you’re caught red handed, you’ll find yourself on the receiving end of a deadly detention slip!
