News: Fairy Tail spin-off manga starring Laxus Dreyar launches

Kodansha’s ‘Magazine Pocket’ app has today launched the first chapter of its new Fairy Tail spin-off manga starring Laxus Dreyar. Fairy Tail Gaiden: Raigo Issen by Kyota Shibano is the latest in a line of the mangaka’s spin-offs, created for the app and based on Hiro Mashima’s original manga. Before came Fairy Tail Gaiden: Rhodonite, following Gajeel Redfox, which began last November and ended on March 30th. Then, previously to that, there was Kengami no Soryu (Twin Dragons of Sabertooth).

Shibano debuted this first manga series in the ‘Magazine Pocket’ app last July, as part of the app’s launch celebration. It received a physical publication as a single compiled volume by Kodansha, and US publishers Kodansha Comics are set to release the volume in English this fall.
