Behind the Voice Actors Anime Awards announce 2015 winners

The site and community Behind the Voice Actors (BTVA) has dedicated itself to recognising the hard graft and artistic talent that professional voice actors put into their work, and now the BTVA Anime Awards have rolled around for another year. Gathering together the best of those gifted performers and big personalities that bring life to our favourite characters, these awards are given for the best performances in English-language anime dubbing, as decided by both staff selection and the public vote.

This year, the 2015 award for Voice Actor of the Year went to Chris Sabat. His efforts as Vegeta and Piccolo in Dragon Ball Z Resurrection ‘F’, as well as Zoro in One Piece, were highlighted among his many other roles. He was a clear winner, topping both the staff selection and people’s choice votes for the category. Beside him, the staff selected Best Actress award went to Lindsay Siedel of Assassination Classroom and Psycho-Pass 2, with Jamie Marchi of Death Parade and Tokyo Ghoul snagging the people’s choice.

As for the breakthroughs, both the staff and people’s choice for Breakthrough Actress was Durarara!! x2‘s Brianna Knickerbocker. The staff chose Gangsta‘s Ricco Fajardo as their Breakthrough Actor, while the fan vote went to Max Mittelman of Aldnoah.Zero.
