As part of a project seeking to promote Japanese films to tourists visiting Japan, the YOKOSO! EIGAKAN! business venture will see One Piece Film Gold released with English and Chinese subtitles, as announced by entertainment company T-joy. Though Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, Anthem of the Heart and Garakowa – Restore the World – were all previously part of the project, with subtitles added a few weeks after release, this 13th One Piece anime movie will be the first screen with subs right from the opening date of July 23rd. These screenings will the continue to run until August 5th at the following six cinemas:

The project’s website describes the film’s story:
Set in Grantesoro, an independent country chartered by the World Government, home of the world’s greatest entertainment city where well-known pirates, [Marines], and millionaires throughout the world gather in an “absolute sanctuary” that even the World Government can’t touch.
There, Luffy and the others meet the ruler of the country, the golden emperor Guild Tesoro who easily wins pirates, the [Marines], and even the World Government over to his side with money. He is about to take action to satisfy his bottomless ambition which may result in major changes in power relationships in the New World…
As ever, franchise creator Eiichiro Oda’s on deck as executive producer, with Hiroaki Miyamoto, the third series’ director for the One Piece anime, joining as director. Novelist and newcomer to anime writing Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who is known for penning live-action dramas and films such as the 2014 Black Butler movie, has written the script. All of the main voice cast from the anime are confirmed to return to their roles once again.
