On June 9th this year, the International Tokyo Toy Show will be revealing the details for a brand new Digimon project. But for now, we have the basics through an early look at V Jump’s new issue, set to publish on Saturday. The magazine will announce that Bandai, Bandai Namco Entertainment and Toei Animation are collaborating on the Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters multimedia creation slated to launch this fall, which will include a game, an anime series and hobby products (e.g. figures or models).
The most recent anime releases in the Digimon franchise, the Digimon Adventure tri. movies, will debut the third of six planned parts in Japan on September 24th. And previously on the gaming front, the PlayStation Vita release Digimon World -Next 0rder- hit shelves in Japan on March 17th.
Update: Bandai opened their website for Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters today, revealing the project’s first visual. Toei Animation also opened a website for the planned anime series, and Bandai Namco have launched another for the game.
On the hobby side of the project, there will be a “digital kids card game”, toys and a magazine among other products. Dengeki Online also had their own info to unveil about the project, and the anime in particular. It’s set to air this fall, and Dengeki gave the first synopsis of the show as follows:
