News: Idol and Love Live! voice actor Maho Matsunaga leaves StylipS and seiyu work behind

Maho Matsunaga.JPGThe idol group StylipS’ official Twitter has announced that founding member Maho Matsunaga has graduated from the unit and retired from voice acting. Looking ahead to her future career, she’s expressed a desire to try out DJing, amongst other pursuits outside of seiyu work and her old group.

Beside Matsunaga, Yui Ogura and Kaori Ishihara were fellow founding members when the StylipS formed in 2011, as well as pursuing voice acting careers. These two left the group in 2013, leaving final founding member Arisa Noto, and new members Moe Toyota and Miku Ito. StylipS made their major debut in 2012, when they performed the ending theme ‘Study x Study’ for the High School DxD anime. Since then, they’ve given themes to series including Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, The Comic Artist and His Assistants and Gundam Build Fighters.

Meanwhile, Matsunaga’s voice acting roles included NAKAIMO! – My Little Sister is Among Them!‘s Kurumi Kashiki, and Saki Episode of Side A‘s Izumi Nijo, with both series also featuring StylipS theme songs. But her best known performance is as Love Live! School idol project‘s Erena Todo. The next generation of idols in Love Live! Sunshine!! will make their anime debut on July 2nd.
