Event: Edinburgh Film Festival to screen restored edition of Belladonna of Sadness

A psychedelic sensual experiment, the 1973 film Kanashimi no Belladonna (Belladonna of Sadness), is being screened at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in association with Scotland Loves Anime. If you want to catch Astro Boy creator Osamu Tezuka’s co-production, with his long-time creative partner Eiichi Yamamoto, before it’s released restored on iTunes on July 12th, this is your chance to experience the transformative piece on desire and its madness.

The film will screen at the Edinburgh Filmhouse on June 24th at 11:30pm, and you can buy your tickets from the official website here. The screening schedule also includes the live-action manga adaptations of Lone Wolf & Cub and Golgo 13, alongside several other Japanese live-action films.
