On Monday (May 30th), Shonen Jump magazine revealed the main visual and double broadcast premiere dates for the anime Saiki Kusuo no Psi Nan, adapting Shuichi Aso’s tales of an unfortunate ESPer. The morning broadcast for the series will air on July 4th at 7:05am, while the late-night broadcast will go out on July 11th at 1:35am.
In last Monday’s issue, Jump announced two new additions to the main cast, with Naruto Shippuden‘s Satoshi Hino voicing Kineshi Hairo, and Tokyo Ghoul‘s Natsuki Hanae as Reita Torutsika. Now these characters, along with several others, have had their character designs previewed as below:
Riki Nendo (voiced by Daisuke Ono)
Kokomi Teruhashi (voiced by Ai Kayano)
Chiyo Yumehara (voiced by Yukari Tamura)
Kineshi Hairo (voiced by Satoshi Hino)
Reita Toritsuka (voiced by Natsuki Hanae)
Hiroaki Sakurai of Maid-sama! is directing, with Shirobako‘s Michiko Yokote on series composition and Masayuki Onji of Aoi Hana designing characters. EGG Firm and J.C.Staff animate the show, based on the manga which first launched as a Jump series in 2012, after Aso had been drawing one-shots for the Jump and Jump Next! magazines since 2011.
Besides inspiring three voice comics, two novels, and a mini-game for the Jump Live app, the series was previously adapted as a Flash anime series in 2013. A live-action film was also announced last year, but is yet to be released.
