Production I.G works on Persona 5 game’s anime sequences

Ghost in the Shell studio Production I.G have confirmed this week that they produced the animation sequences for the Persona 5 game, which is slated for release on September 15th in Japan.

Atlus previously revealed the release date as part of a live-stream event on May 5th, which began with webcam footage of the Tokyo Tower. As a staff discussion revealed the two new Velvet Room guides Justine and Caroline, the stream simulated a breaking news broadcast by real-life reporter Noriko Shoji. The bulletin reported the “disappearance” of the Tokyo Tower by a mysterious thief organisation, then went into the game’s fourth promo video as below.

Persona 5 is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3, and the TV anime special, Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-, will air in September before the game’s launch. The show will recount the prologue story of the young thief organisation which is central to the RPG’s plot. The E3 gaming festival, which takes place in LA from June 14th-16th, will reveal more details on the game.
