One Piece previews start of anime’s Zou arc

As well as making the official announcement for the second season premiere of Food Wars!, next week’s Shonen Jump will be peering through the telescope at One Piece with a preview of the long-awaited trip to Zou. Having introduced the beast of an Emperor Kaido, as voiced by Tessho Genda, in episode 739, this 28th arc also marks the first of the Emperor Saga. The theme song for the Zou arc will be performed by Kishidan, the motorcycle subculture “bosozoku”-themed rock band, teaming up with regular One Piece theme singer Hiroshi Kitadani.

In other Straw Hat adventures, the franchise’s 13th anime film One Piece Film Gold is sailing ever closer to its July 23rd release. A full-length trailer featuring GLIM SPANKY’S theme song was released last month, and Japan wants tourists to get in on the fun, so selected cinemas will show the film with English and Chinese subtitles right from its opening day.
