Death Note will be giving fans their own chance to team up with L and defeat Kira this summer, with a new realistic escape game as part of Universal Studios Japan’s ‘Universal Jump Summer’ event. Fully immersive and allowing up to five players to “escape from the evil clutch of Kira by solving the mystery together with L”, ‘Death Note– The Escape’ is previewed in the promo video below.
In the game, each team of players will be locked inside a four-storey replica of the anime series’ Sakura TV building. As part of a series of Shonen Jump-themed attractions running for Universal Studios Japan’s 15th anniversary, including a One Piece live stage show and a 4D Dragon Ball Z ride, the game will be held for a limited time from July 1st to September 4th.
Boasting a realistic sense of urgency and environment for players to explore and escape, ramping up the tension of the droves of similar interactive locked-room escape games, the official website for ‘Death Note– The Escape’ provides more info on how to purchase tickets. There’s also the chance to win a spot among the game’s first players, and promotional items on sale such as an official clipboard binder and light-up pen.
