The official Twitter feed for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure spread the word from Animage magazine that the anime adaptation of the Diamond is Unbreakable arc is set to run for another two cours, working up to a total of 39 episodes. The second quarterly stretch, which will begin in July, will feature the new opening theme ‘chase’ by batta.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part IV: Diamond is Unbreakable aired its first episode in April, covering the manga by Hirohiko Araki which ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1992 to 1995. Three previews screened on the streets of Tokyo, Osaka and Araki’s hometown Sendai, placing Yuki Ono’s Josuke, Daisuke Ono’s Jotaro and Yuki Kaji’s Koichi in the setting of Morioh, a town in S-City, M-Prefecture.
The previous JoJo series’ episode directors, Toshiyiki Kato and Yuuta Takamura, are stepping up as series director and chief director respectively, led by Naokatsu Tsuda returning as director. Penguindrum‘s Terumi Nishii is in charge of character designs, with action animation director Kenta Mimuro also working on stand design, and Yasuko Kobayashi on series composition.
