The official website for the anime of Ichigo Takano’s time-travel romance Orange has revealed that the series will premiere in the early hours of July 3rd. On Tokyo MX episodes will air each Sunday at midnight, and will also show on AT-X, BS11, and TV Aichi that morning.
The shojo sci-fi series is directed by Steins;Gate’s Hiroshi Hamasaki, at production studios TMS Entertainment and Telecom Animation Film. Scripts are written by Yuko Kakihara of Persona 4 the ANIMATION and character designs are all provided by Yuki of Kids on the Slope, whose work you can see in the then-and-now designs unveiled for the main cast last month.
Seven Seas, who publish the manga in North America, describe the story as follows:
Everyone has regrets in life. So who wouldn’t take the chance to change the past if given the opportunity? When sixteen-year-old Takamiya Naho receives a mysterious letter, claiming to be from her twenty-seven-year-old self, her life is suddenly thrown into flux. The letter tells her that a new transfer student by the name of Naruse Kakeru will be joining her class, and to keep her eye on him. But why? Naho must decide what to make of the letter and its cryptic warning, and what it means not only for her future, but for Kakeru’s as well.
