News: Nisekoi manga may not end as soon as expected

Only this Monday, it was declared in Shonen Jump that Naoshi Komi’s Nisekoi manga was heading for its climax, suggesting that the series would soon be reaching its end. But now, an early look at next week’s Jump mag suggests this might not quite be the case after all. As announced with the table of contents and author notes, pictured below with the centre colour page for Nisekoi‘s next chapter, the series will continue with a new editor, Ueno, who previously worked on the Food Wars! manga.

While Komi drew the original ‘Nisekoi’ as a one-shot for Jump Next! magazine in 2011, it was brought back as a manga series in November that same year. The 15th compiled volume of the manga was published by Shueisha on May 3rd, and VIZ Media, who serialise English-language chapters of the manga as they’re released in Japan, describe the story:

It’s hate at first sight—or rather a knee to the head at first sight —when Raku Ichijo meets Chitoge Kirisaki! Unfortunately, Raku’s gangster father arranges a false love match between Raku and their rival gang leader’s daughter, who just so happens to be Chitoge! Raku’s searching for his childhood sweetheart from ten years ago, however, with a pendant around his neck as a memento…but he can’t even remember the girl’s name or face!
