The official website for Time Travel Shojo – Mari, Waka to 8-nin no Kagakusha-tachi (Time Travel Girl – Mari, Waka and the 8 Scientists) began streaming the anime’s first promo video on Friday (June 24th). As well as meeting the stars Mari Hayase and Waka Mizuki, voiced by K-ON!‘s own Yui and Mugi-chan, Aki Toyosaki and Minako Kotobuki, we also get a few glimpses of the real historical scientists who will appear in the show starting July 9th.

Directed and with series composition by Hakuoki‘s Osamu Yamazaki, the rest of the cast listing stands as follows:

Ryuichi Kijima (Boruto – Naruto the Movie‘s Ritsuki) as Jun Mizuki
Toshiyuki Morikawa (InuYasha‘s Naraku) as Eiji Hayase
Tomohiro Tsuboi (Hakuoki‘s Shinpachi Nagakura) as Akira Mikage
Haruka Tomatsu (Gintama season 4’s Ginko Sakata) as Hikari Hayase
Yui Fukuo as Rika Hayase
Kikuko Inoue (CLANNAD‘s Sanae Furukawa) as Rei Mizuki
Daiki Yamashita (My Hero Academia‘s Izuku Midoriya) as Futa Ichikawa
Ayahi Takagaki (Durarara!!‘s Erika Karisawa) as Satsuki Kuroki

FUNimation, who will be streaming the series via FunimationNow, give its story the following description:

Mari Hayase is on a mission to go back in time and meet eight of the most prominent scientists and inventors in history. With the help of her two friends Waka Mizuki and Jun Mizuki she’ll find herself up close and personal with famous figures like Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, and so many more! What’s her purpose and mission? Hopefully not getting stuck in the past!
