Update: Berserk anime gets extended English-subtitled trailer

The Berserk revival anime’s official website is now streaming a new teaser promo, previewing the opening theme for the series premiering July 1st. As revealed in March with the series’ second trailer, the song, titled ‘Inferno’, is performed by 9mm Parabellum Bullet.

The site also unveiled a new key visual, and more cast have been added to the earlier list as follows:

Miyuki Sawashiro (2011 Hunter × Hunter‘s Kurapika) as Luca
Natsumi Takamori (IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls‘ Miku Maekawa) as Nina
Daisuke Hirakawa (Free! – Iwatobi Swim Club‘s Rei Ryugazaki) as Jerome
Ayana Taketatsu (K-ON!‘s Azusa Nakano) as Erica
Minako Kotobuki (K-ON!‘s Tsumugi Kotobuki) as Rickert
Takashi Inagaki (The Seven Deadly Sins‘ Cain Barzad) as Godot
Yuichi Nakamura (Fairy Tail‘s Gray Fullbuster) as Silat
Kouji Ishii (Samurai Flamenco‘s Shintaro F. Okuzaki) as Tapasa
Rikiya Koyama (Ushio & Tora‘s Tora) as Mozgus

The Berserk manga creator Kentaro Miura himself is on the team as executive producer, with Shin Itagaki of Teekyu directing at LIDEN FILMS, and Psycho-Pass’ Makoto Fukami supervising scripts in collaboration with Takashi Yamashita of CencorollNeon Genesis Evangelion‘s Shiro Sagisu also returns from the Berserk films to compose the score, and Susumu Hirasawa has provided the insert song ‘Hai yo’ (‘Oh Ashes’). Chobits’ Hisashi Abe’s character designs were recently previewed as 2D sketches and 3D models, as the countdown to that long-awaited first episode passed the one month mark.

Update: After setting the date for their simulcast of Berserk as July 1st, Crunchyroll are now hosting the show’s latest trailer with English subtitles. A similar, but shorter teaser without subtitles debuted in Japan earlier this month (and can be viewed above), and so the preview of 9mm Parabellum Bullet’s opening theme ‘Inferno’ is also present in the following video.
