News: Re:ZERO releases visual reliving episode 14’s despair

Spoiler warning for Re:ZERO episode 14.

With the agonising wait for Re:ZERO‘s 15th episode ‘The Outside of Madness’ finally over, the anime’s official Twitter and website revealed a new visual for the show’s second cour. It seems that there will only be more heartbreaking moments ahead, as accompanying comments from staff said that it symbolises future developments in Subaru’s suffering.

In slightly lighter news for the anime, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, who voiced Sword Art Online‘s Kirito, has been revealed as joining the cast in the role of Betelgeuse Romanee-Conti. The official website unveiled his character design as below.

The 25-episode series, which became a smash for breaking open the tropes of travel to another world, premiered on April 4th. Crunchyroll are streaming the series as it airs in Japan, and they give it the following description:

Natsuki Subaru, an ordinary high school student, is on his way home from the convenience store when he finds himself transported to another world. As he’s lost and confused in a new world where he doesn’t even know left from right, the only person to reach out to him was a beautiful girl with silver hair. Determined to repay her somehow for saving him from his own despair, Subaru agrees to help the girl find something she’s looking for…
