Final Kizumonogatari film slated for January

Kizumonogatari Nekketsu-hen (Wound Tale: Hot Blood), the second film in Akiyuki Shinbo’s Bakemonogatari prequel trilogy, arrives in Japanese cinemas today (August 19th). To mark the opening, the movies’ official website has announced that the third and final part, Kizumonogatari Reiketsu-hen (Cold Blood), is slated for January 6th, 2017. The staff also revealed the film’s key visual, illustrated by Monogatari‘s regular character designer Akio Watanabe.

The first part, Kizumonogatari Tekketsu (Iron Blood), opened on January 8th, and Aniplex of America screened it for the US from February through March. Aniplex also plan to screen Part 1 in four cinemas in Canada starting on August 28th, and bring the second film to the US starting in October.

Meanwhile, the Monogatari novels’ author NisiOisin planned to release two more volumes in the series this year, and the first, Nademonogatari, was published on July 29th. The second, Musubimonogatari (Binding Story), is yet to receive its precise release date.
