GA Bunko, the publishers of the now-infamous dark fantasy light novel series Goblin Slayer!, announced last month that the fourth volume by Kumo Kagyu and Noburo Kannatsuki would be given a special edition with an audio drama CD. Now this latest instalment is available to pre-order in Japan ahead of its January 15th, 2017 release, and a new English promo video has been unveiled along with the cast listing for the drama CD.
The promo features Yuichiro Umehara (Seraph of the End‘s Rene Simm) as the Goblin Slayer, and Yui Ogura (Teekyu‘s Tomarin) as the elven Priestess. Performing from a script written by Kagyu, their fellow cast are, as follows:
Nao Toyama (Nisekoi‘s Chitoge) as High Elf Archer
Yuka Iguchi (A Certain Magical Index‘s Index) as Cow Girl
Maaya Uchida (Noragami‘s Hiyori) as Guild Girl
Yuichi Nakamura (CLANNAD‘s Tomoya) as Dwarf Shaman
Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama‘s Gintoki) as Lizard Priest
Yoko Hikasa (K-ON!‘s Mio) as Sorceress
Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Food Wars!‘ Soma) as Lancer
Does this development herald the anime to come? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
SB Creative published the first volume of Goblin Slayer! in February, and the second volume was released in May, with the third available since yesterday (September 14th). Writer Kagyu of The Idolm@ster Neue Green for Dearly Stars, alongside illustrator Kannatsuki, first published the series online. Yen Press are running an English simulpub of Kosuke Kurose’s manga adaptation, and also licensed the novels with the first volume slated for December 13th. The series follows a man with the goal of becoming an “adventurer”, with the strict stipulation that he’ll only kill goblins. After hearing rumours of the hero’s goblin-slaying deeds, an elf comes to him with a request.
