VIZ Media’s Weekly Shonen Jump announced on Monday (September 19th) that two manga it recently previewed as part of its Jump Start initiative, Ryohei Yamamoto’s Love Rush! and Tomohiro Yagi’s Red Sprite, will now join the magazine’s official weekly line-up. Initially, Viz ran the first three chapters of both as Love Rush! launched on August 22nd, and Red Sprite on August 29th.
Viz’s Jump also ran Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu’s dark fairytale Yakusoku no Neverland (The Promised Neverland) as a Jump Start manga. But earlier this month, Viz announced that this manga would be added to the magazine’s official line-up too, making the first three chapters available on the Shonen Jump website’s free section. A few more series currently available for free on the site include the continued serialisation of Sket Dance creator Kenta Shinohara’s new sci-fi surival epic, Astra Lost in Space, along with The Emperor and I, Haikyu!!, One Punch Man and Naruto: Chibi Sasuke’s Sharingan Legend.
There’s also a treat for shojo and classic manga fans in Viz’s special Shojo Beat digital sale for this month. Each week throughout September, a new deal will discount every available volume of a featured series to $4.99 each, available across all digital platforms for a limited time.
