Prisma Illya anime announces movie in production

The magical girl Fate spin-off anime based on Hiroshi Hiroyama’s manga, Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 3rei!, ended with its 12th episode today (September 22nd). But Illyasviel isn’t laying down wands, as the episode closed on the following announcement that a PRISMA ILLYA film is in production.

While more details are still forthcoming, the anime’s official Twitter posted this teaser visual.

Prisma Illya 3rei! is, confusingly enough, the fourth anime series based on Hiroyama’s manga. The first premiered in 2013, followed by 2wei! in 2014, and the third, 2wei Herz!, airing last July. Crunchyroll streamed all four series as new episodes aired in Japan, and they give the show the following description:

Illya (Illyasviel von Einzbern) is a typical young girl attending Homurabara Academy who just happens to have a slight crush on her brother-in-law. Then, one night, a magic wand called Magical Ruby falls from the sky into her bath and tricks her into signing a contract…

I am pleasantly surprised to see how popular this spin-off is. The first season was enjoyable. I still need to watch the rest.

We’ve been blown away by the whole Fate anime franchise. Took some time to grow on us, but man, when it did. Makes you thankful to be an anime reviewer, at first we were watching it through just to be responsible XD
