Rumour had some big plans in place for the Overlord light novels by Kugane Maruyama and so-bin, and in the series’ 11th volume it’s been announced exactly what those plans are. Though we hoped for more anime, the news is still along those lines, as the summer 2015 show is set to be edited into a compilation movie. Details beyond that are yet to be announced, but so-bin has illustrated a visual for the film, with Ainz Ooal Gown lording it over the Floor Guardians.

‘The Artisan of the Mountain Dwarfs’, volume 11 of the light novels launched online in 2010 then published in print in 2012, also features a new 30-minute animated Blu-ray. It follows the continued adventures of Ainz’s combat maids, the Pleiades Six-Stars, and the Floor Guardians. Later, on December 26th, volume 6 of Satoshi Oshia and Hugin Miyama’s manga will see the Pleiades girls reunite once again for a new drama CD, where they all pitch in on a heated debate about armour.

I want to check out Overlord, but given the choice I will go for the series. Compilation movies seem pointless to me.
