Fist of the North Star actor Gary Dubin passes away

Image result for gary dubinActor and voice actor Gary Dubin, known for his roles in Fist of the North Star and The AristoCats among many others, has died of bone cancer. The Hollywood Reporter broke the sad news last week, saying he’d passed on October 8th at the age of 57.

Dubin voiced Bat in the English dub of Fist of the North Star, as well as George in Cowboy Bebop, Zector, Aptom and Oswald/Guyver II in The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armour, and Matsui in Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II: The Movie. He was seen on TV and in films from a young age, his role as Toulouse in 1970’s The AristoCats being one of his earliest and most prominent. He then went on to play Punky Lazarr in The Partridge Family, Stanley Brubaker in The April Fools, and Eddie Marchand in Jaws 2.

He had long and fulfilling live-action and voice acting careers, so he will be missed be many who will remember his performances from their own childhoods across generations. Our thoughts are with his loved ones, and may he rest in peace.
