After the Londoners have had their fun at MCM Comic Con next weekend, Eirtakon, home of the Irish otaku, will return to Dublin from November 4th-6th. The largest and longest running anime and manga convention in Ireland, it’s held every year by a team of J-culture loving volunteers.
Guests appearing include two dub actors all the way from Texas: Luci Christian, voice of Rico in Gunslinger Girl; and John Swasey, Gendo of Neon Genesis Evangelion. They’ve also worked together on One Piece, with Christian penny-pinching as Nami and Swasey dealing in organised crime as Sir Crocodile.
The con will take place at Croke Park Conference Centre, and tickets are available for day, weekend and family passes here. The event is open to fans of all ages, but please note that children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. For more information about activities, panels, traders and this year’s supported charity, head over to the official Eirtakon website.
