We’re back for another weekly round-up of our favourite news stories in bitesize form, making it easy for you to catch up with the latest anime happenings. For those we’ve lost


At the end of October, two more talented souls left us. Kaneta Kimotsuki‘s performances in Doraemon will be missed by generations of fans, and award-winning manga artist Hiroyuki Shoji was lost far too soon. May they both rest in peace.

Happy Birthday to Goku seiyuu Masako Nozawa

With the terrible losses to anime we’ve been mourning lately, it’s heartening to know that “The Eternal Boy” Masako Nozawa is still going strong at 80. Many happy returns, Nozawa-san.

Stan Lee and Studio DEEN join forces for The Reflection

Ready for some news we didn’t need super vision to see coming? Stan Lee is getting on board the anime train, teaming up with Studio DEEN for a superhero themed animated short.

Akame ga Kill! and Toriko manga soon to end

Tetsuya Tashiro’s Akame ga Killis set to take its final stand, and now we’ve wished farewell to Bleach and KochiKame, another of the Shonen Jump old guard, Toriko, is due to print its last chapter.

One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda supports Kumamoto quake recovery project

And for some Friday feel-good vibes, Eiichiro Oda is calling on Straw Hats to support his hometown after April’s quakes, in return for some rather special One Piece rewards.
